Chapter 3: Coalhaven

Source-based research, not a hands-on playtest. These notes distinguish the hostile red-eye creatures from the story ghost; the two encounters do not have the same solution.

Beats

1. Follow the grave's newly opened routes. On the leg route, listen at the coffins; close your eyes and focus on red eyes to clear the hostile creatures.
2. On the arm route, position Potboy at the marked spot to light three candles together. Use the Matchlock for the remaining two while his candles are lit. Take the mask and put it on the seated figure outside to open the next path.
3. For the skull route, follow the Key Critter's jingling between tree hatches. Its key opens the route to the Songcatcher; return that object to the skull-holder, then return the skull to the grave.
4. With all bones returned, send Potboy into the furnace pipe and pump the fire three times. Take the ghost's blanket, then light the match in her hand. Leave through the wardrobe by the large cat.

Checklist: 21 items (5 figurines, 5 discs, 6 Shellphones, 5 story pages/reels), the highest chapter total in the six-chapter checklist. Completing the exit sequence unlocks The Tale of Coalhaven. Check Housy before using chapter select for missing items.

Collection route and exit check

Check all 21 locations: F08–F12, D07–D11, S13–S18 and R06–R10. The umbrella NPC, Housy, giant cat and branching mine tracks contain early pickups before the bone quests. In Coalhaven, revisit both sides of the frozen-lake bridge, then sweep each newly opened leg/arm/skull route; S17 is inside the left-arm house. After the final wardrobe by the cat, R10 is still ahead on Housy's path before the bridge, so do not stop the sweep at the grave. Finishing the story earns The Tale of Coalhaven; the four collection trophies require other chapters too. The previous route is Nobodyville; the next is the Craftsman's Heart.
